Anybody else go?
Wonderful meal last night. I have been hesitant to go there since so many restaurants that have been there have been awful. But, Lorenzo took his great restaurant out of Downtown Freehold and put it in an obscure part of Howell/Farmingdale. I wish him luck.

There were 3 of us and we had a bronzina fish done in wine and plum tomatoe with a potato au gratin and roasted veg. It was very tender and light. It was one of the specials of the night.

The other 2 of us had a fish paella to share and lobster bisque. Both again specials.

It was very quiet and service immpeccable.

It is by the railroad tracks at the Howell/Farmingdale border on Adelphia Rd. Used to be Edge of Town, Lon's and I can't remember what before that!

So was it crowded? Not really looking for a crowd, just a lively spot  Grin

I went on a Tuesday and did not expect a crowd and there were only a few tables occupied. Right for a Tuesday, but was wondering about other nights?

Was not "packed" but they had people there. ALso LIVE Music!!!Funny thing people flock to the chain restaurants, they wait 45 minutes for a table , to get microwaved and steamed food.
They could go to a place like Lorenzo's eat real food. Prepared with fresh ingredents for a reasonable price and support a local business.

Went to Lorenzo's last night for dinner.  The food was excellent.  The fried calamari was fantastic.  One of the best I've had.  We had baby clams for app. out of this world.  For dinner we both had one of the specials.  Stuffed calamari in a marinara sauce to die for.  It was stuffed with shrimp, scallops, lobster, clams and bread crumbs.  And the marinara sauce was excellent.  I usually don't like the marinara sauce in most restaurants.  But this was very good.  Not too many people in there, but maybe a Sunday night and football on tv could be the reason.  I hope he'll be able to do much better than the other people who had the place.  When he was in freehold he did well.  As a matter of fact our son who is now a chef worked for him while he was in high school and then again when he first graduated from culinary school.  And our daughter also worked there as a waitress when he first opened up in freehold.

We were also there Tuesday  for the independents election night party.  The food that night was also very good.

Beside the regular dinner menu, he  has a special  menu selection for only $16.95 which includes an App., Salad or Pasta, Entree(sp) and Desert.  And the choices are nice.

If you're looking for a good meal for a reasonable price this is the place.  And the food is prepared fresh.
I have put this on my "visit often list" up there with my favorite sushi restaurant, which we go to almost every Saturday.

George and I were so impressed with the food on election night, we went back that same week for the dinner specials which were incredible --- more than ample servings and fabulous quality. Besides the $16.95 dinner specials, there has been  a coupon in the Asbury Park Press Restaurant guide for 20% off the regular dinner menu.

i too enjoyed  a great night out with the girls at lorenzo's!!    we leave the hubbies at home and do dinner once a month (try to)  what i loved best besides the great food was our great waitstaff our waiter was polite, professional, and on the ball.   we also lingered there for a long while after dinner and not once did we get the evil eye from anyone that we were overstaying our welcome.   they have a really nice bar area if one were to want to go out for a nice cocktail or glass of wine with friends  but i will warn you you will order food once you are in there because it just smells too GOOD not to!!   the prices were great we all ordered dinners from the pre fixed price menu $16.95 had soup to nuts and wine and drinks and it cost us about $100 or so which isnt bad for 4 people at all
go see lorenzo you will be happy you did!!
