So against my better judgement (and my 12 year olds pleadings!) I go to Coldstone Creamery, order 2 mediums to go.  I get home, and what do I find?  2 smalls, inserted into medium cups, $8.59, thank you.  I call, speak to the manager and am told it's because they overfilled it.  How , then, did the lids fit?  No answer.  Never again.   Angry

I sent an email to Coldstone's corp email address to share my experience.   So I get home from work today and there was a message on my answering machine.  It was the manager of Coldstone.  He's pissed off at ME, for reporting him to corporate.

Bob,

Don't back down. Keep fighting the good fight. Let him know about the Board and that we're not going to take the rip-offs anymore and are letting people know who does business in good faith and who does not. That this is our way of fighting back and demanding the service we over-paid for to begin with.

And since we're on the subject, the absolute best ice cream is at Ice Cream on 9.

Keep on keepin' on,

That's the wrong way to handle a dissatisfied customer.  The right way would have been to offer 2 for free to get you to come back.

We went there way back when it first opened - had a coupon so we tried it - we were very unimpressed.

May I recomend the Blizzards at the Freehold DQ on 33.   Wink

Don't go there anymore and tell corporate why. Enough is enough. They need us and we don't need them.

we went when it first opened too - and thought it was ridiculously expensive. we used the coupon too, and it still was too much IMO, and really not that great.
we went again a few more times, again only with the coupon LOL, and while the kids think its great, i think its just so-so.

we havent been there in a long time, and when i think of ice cream, thats not the first place to pop into my head. we like ritas here, and its right up the road.

plus, the tip jar thing irritated me LOL. it seems everyone wants a tip for just doing their job these days. my tip is, hey, just do your job and dont be looking for a tip LOLOL. getting a cone, or a bagel, does not constitute a tip for me. i would probably think otherwise though if i worked there LOL.

i thought ice cream on 9 was alittle much too. we only go there once in awhile.

when we were at the mall at christmas time, there was a place called marble slab creamery, which is just like cold stone. i got the kids a small, and i had a cone, and it was around 13.00!!!!! i had to PAY extra to get the cone LOL. i told them to enjoy it because it was the last time we were going there. funny but when i went to the mall in Jan. to do some returns, i noticed they were closed and the store was empty. go figure!

sorry they were so rude to you. its amazing how customer service is just not followed anymore, people just dont care if you come back or not these days.
i would call corporate and tell them he called you and gave you an attitude just to stick it to him alittle more LOL. better yet, play them the message! that will teach him!

what a jerk!

Most def not the way to handle a customer! That is plain and simple harrassment, no?  I would let corporate know about that too.
It is amazing how business owners can treat customers. I had a similar experience at Solo Bella in Jackson. We were unhappy with service and food and were handling it quietly when owner stormed in and yelled at us on the way out  'white trash don't ever come back'. I was with kids  !!!! and the Rabbi's wife!!!! now we were dressed in summer casual, so there was no way to know, but no white trash with us...at least not that day. :-/

Maria, I'm with you.

I can go to the grocery store and buy ice cream and toppings for my family of five which will last multiple nights for than a couple of small ice creams at one of the ice cream parlors.

It is a very, very rare occaision that I'll drop $30+ to get ice cream for my family. Add to that poor service and I wouldn't even walk into the place on a splurge!

Go get 'em Bob!

I went to Coldstone shortly after they opened.

All I wanted was a chocolate shake.  I think it was like....$6.

 Shocked

Never went back!

BTW, I've discovered that Chick Fil-A(of all places...)makes a TERRIFIC chocolate shake!  Half the price of Ice cream joints too!  I highly recommend them.

Peace

A._Goana,

Evidentally, you didn't see their ad. Sorry, I don't know how to transfer it to here. You gotta' read it. This is 'Too Funny'.

http://www.solobella.com/index2.htm

Were you there on a Sunday? I think they were just making you feel 'Welcomed' (like family)..."Sticking to Family Tradition"..."maybe have an occasional first fight". I don't know if that is a typo in their ad - first or fist?

All kidding aside...I have no reason to disbelieve what you said. And, they were very lucky that I wasn't there to witness that.

p.s. I made the mistake of going there on St. Patrick's Day for corned beef and cabbage. No 'fist-fight', luckily, but I haven't been back there since.

Agree 100%, and they're hand spun milkshakes, like the kind I used to make when I worked summers as a kid at Carvel!  Cheesy

Looks like they could use someone like Arlene to teach them grammar and spelling!  I am shocked that any business owner would say such a thing.  The food looks good in the photos but I'll pass.  I'm not 1st or 2nd generation Italian.. in fact.. no Italian blood runs through these veins.  I doubt I'd be welcomed there.

Arlene - to you I recomend Basiles  - hmmm another one on Route 33 in Freehold.   :-?

Thanks for all the support folks. My experience at Solo Bella is how I found this message board. I was so upset I had to share with others. I am a well traveled, well educated woman. Find myself not to be the "ugly American"when I am elsewhere, much less IN NJ!  I believe I put a review on our Restaurant Review, there was no RANT section then.

Kathy- Yes, the words ‘white trash’ were used several times. And the owner is a SHE not a HE. While the Rabbi’s wife may have heard other awful expressions in her lifetime, I somehow believe that she had never heard the term “white trash” thrown her way.

Maria- if it was a corporate or franchise situation I would have been calling, emailing and whatever else I could do. Since it was just a single ownership I was kind of stymied.

Cheech-That ad is unreal! I will have to share with my buddies who were with me.  BTW, we were there on an early Saturday. Purposely went early because we had some preteens and didn’t want to upset the ‘couples’ night thing at a restaurant, but hey….
“First fight?Huh?” Guess if they had had that website up then we would have known better!
