I wound not previously have shopped at Freehold Music as I have no need for any such equipment. However, I have to find a reason to head over. Wonder if as she berated them and screamed and hollered, she recorded the conversation when they fired back? Its the end of the world, the piano tuner was late! Can you imagine when the line is too long at the fast food drive through? I can see her honking and screaming. The good news is she is refreshing the tape she has of me where after berating me I finally tell her off. I can't tell you how many people have told me that they were amzed I did not tell her to go piund salt after the first 30 seconds. The good news is by my posting this her board will heat up again and I'll be her focal point again. I consider this a community service as by doing this I keep her at the keyboard and away from berating poor music store sales clerks, or worse.

Joe,

You are truly the gift that keeps on giving. Your semi-literate rant which I have posted above will be amazing to many for only one reason. How could anyone so seemingly stupid be as politically cunning as you until, of course, your own hubris did you in.

And why am I not surprised that poor customer service is no problem for you. Mediocrity was your standard while in office and it is why you will go no further but the most wonderful part of it is you keep blaming me for it. You don't know how much I love that!

P.S. Funny how each of us run into people who's opinion of my interview with you seem to vary so greatly. Can't tell you how many people I have spoken to who hold the same opinion of it as Fritz does. Interesting, eh?  Wink  Grin  Cool

I guess recordings and accountability for ones actions are Joey's worst nightmare.

Steve,

Ask Curt. I'm sure he well remembers when little Joe turned off the recording at a Planning Board meeting so he could say 'what he wanted'  Roll Eyes and then later swear he didn't say it because, of course, it wasn't on the recording.

It's why Curt "lost it" and in doing so made himself a Howell, political folk hero - for those in the know - and showed he was his own man.  Unlike little Joe, of course.  Wink  Roll Eyes  Cool

I just read in the APP about the Tom's River school superintendent who scammed millions from the insurance fund.

Apparently this has happened in other towns too and the FBI is looking for tips.

I imagine that any administrator or elected official in the state that switched policies during their reign will get their interest. Especially to one that cost more.

This is going to be a long, long investigation that isn't going away. In today's economy no one has any sympathy for swindlers anymore. I bet this ends up being another big "round-up" with everyone ratting each other out and serving time.  Embarrassed

Information from the Solomon Dwek case might even jepordize some.

Hmmm... I wonder if the fingers of any informers will point to Howell? I would be surprised if they weren't looking.

Howell Township has had 2 insurance brokers for many years now. They are Brown and Brown Insurance and B.G.I.A. They are highly reputable companies doing governmental insurance for many years in numerous counties and municipalities. This year we switched over to the State Health Benifit Plan administered by the state itself to save money as increases from 6 major carriers were anywhere from 12% to 26%. The state I believe had a only a 6% increase.

Although the increase was low compared to many major carriers it has been said to the governing body that the state is losing in excess of 100 million dollars a year with it's plan. When I say the state I mean the taxpayers. Monies will have to be borrowed which is a habit of Trenton's in the past to pay this shortfall or a major overhaul will occur. This Governor has been adanment that the days of borrowing to balance the books will not be the norm on his watch. Does that mean a 15% increase next year, a reduction in workforce, or a change in benifits and or contributions is a decision to be made by those at a higher paygrade than I on the state level.

I am in the camp of borrowing from tomorrow to make things look good today is not an acceptable solution. It is one of the top 5 reasons we are in the mess we are today.

                                                       Respectfully Yours,

                                                             Mayor Bobby Walsh

The increase in State Health Benefits for 2011 is 12.2%

Pursuant Chapter 2, PL 2010, effective May 21, 2010, to be eligible for health benefits coverage under the SHBP, a full-time employee will be required to work a minimum of 25 hours per week, rather than the current 20 hours, to qualify for employer provided health benefits.  Full-time elected and appointed officers elected or appointed on or after May 21, must work a minimum of 35 hours per week to qualify for employer provided health benefits. Rlrcted and appointed officials will be subject to the same timekeeping records as all other management employees, with appropriate to the organization approval of timesheets or records.

The law also prohibits an employee, dependent, or retiree who is a member of State Health Benefits or receiving benefits from more than one employer through State Health Benefits.

The law also reduced the maximum amount of any payment for the waiver of employer provided health benefits coverage to 25% or $5,000, whichever is less, of the amount saved by the employer because of the waiver of coverage on new applications for waivers.

Didn't we have the State Health Benefit Program before? Wasn't it changed to another plan during the DiBella reign? We are now back to the State Health Benefit Program. Either he took us out of a good plan (from the standpoint of taxpayers)  in favor of one not as good, or if his was better, than why are we now going back to the State Health Benefit Program?

In other words, did we just fix a problem that shouldn't have happened during the DiBella regime?

Wasn't DiBella in the insurance business at the time he was also in office and changed our plan from the State Health Benefit Program to another one? Was any commission involved and if so, who got it? Curious minds want to know.

I'm sure I will be called all sorts of names on the other board for daring to question the actions of some of our past politicians, but we should learn from these mistakes and not just chalk them up to the "past" -- especially if those who participated in these mistakes are still clueless and have the right to vote.

I agree.  How many times can you beat this dead horse?

I just signed off on the football thread too since the season is over.  (But maybe we can leave it up for a few more days so people can see the final four results.)

I feel bad for Joe.  It's Christmas time so give him a break.

Grace,

I know you are a grande dame of the Howell Republican Party. Which now that I think about it means you were directly "responsible" for DiBella.  Roll Eyes  Wink

Grace, seriously. I respect you immensely but the recording stays. Why? Because we all know that as long as he draws breath, Joe DiBella will harbor a desire for elected office. Now while I'll grant you the likelihood of his any longer getting elected to anything are slim to none; however, if Sarah Palin has taught us anything it is that anything is possible.

Finally, I don't see it as beating a "dead dog." Beating it would mean I continuously refer to it which of course I do not until someone such as yourself brings it up.

Well, anyway, as I said, I don't see it so much as beating a "dead dog" as I do a "historical" exhibit. Kind of like the Holocaust Museum. It's a way of reminding people who or what can happen if you don't stay informed, pay attention and do your own thinking.
