Save your money.

Go look at the stock mantles at Lowes and Home Depot.  They have Oak, Poplar and Pine in various styles from contemporary to traditional with dentil trim.  They come in clear (prepped for stain & urethane) or primed white.  They are available in a variety of sizes.  You can also get the surrounds and the columns too.  And if they don't have what you want, look in the catalog and order one.  You'll have it in a week.

You would be amazed at what $100-200 will buy you!

thanks Pat....here is where my problem lies....the fireplace is a high efficiency unit and the specs are not typical and to be perfectly honest I have no idea how to correctly measure as the granite guy needs the spec's to corrrectly cut the granite...  I figured I could have a person come in to help as i'd like it to be as perfect as possible as again my measuring would probably be horrible.

& Pat...you are 100% correct as I looked at Lowes and they have some really beautiful stuff ranging from $100 - $1700.

Thanks,

Adam
