CONGREGATION KOL AM AND FREEHOLD JEWISH CENTER HOST
BONE MARROW AND STEM CELL REGISTRY DRIVE
On Sunday, May 16th from 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM, Congregation Kol Am and Freehold Jewish Center are hosting a Stem Cell Drive, sponsored by the Gift of Life Foundation at the Freehold Jewish Center. Right now we are looking to find a match for Sarah, a 9-year old girl who attends Heath School. She was diagnosed with Leukemia for the second time and is in urgent need of a bone marrow transplant to survive.
Since tissue type is inherited, Sarah's best chance of finding a genetically matched donor lies with those of Jewish ancestry. However, there are many patients of all backgrounds in need of donors for transplants, so we encourage everyone to join the registry.
We are asking people between the ages of 18 and 60 years old and in relatively good health to come and provide a mouth swab to be entered into the worldwide registry.
The bone marrow drive will take place at:
The Freehold Jewish Center
59 Broad Street
Freehold, NJ
