Sometimes you just have to laugh at the brainiacs.  The comments are good for a giggle:

Woman reports $8K in items stolen from car parked at Great Adventure

By CHARLES WEBSTER • STAFF WRITER • June 21, 2010

JACKSON — A Merrick, N.Y. woman reported to police, after a day inside Six Flags Great Adventure on Sunday, that she returned to the parking lot to find her 2008 Saab 9.3 was broken into and ransacked.

The Long Island woman reported about $8,000 worth of items were taken, including laptop computers, a GPS navigation unit, digital SLR camera, Coach bag and cash.

Officer Mary Nelson responded to the scene.

Computers? As in more than one? Were the items laid out on the seats like a display case? Sounds to me like someone is trying to jack-up an insurance claim.  Roll Eyes

My friend works for a Manhatten company and he often needs to haul valuable equipment in his car into Brooklyn.  He told me they use a standard cardboard box to transport the equipment in the rear seats of the vehicle.  And often the cars are parked on the streets so tehy could be robbed any time.

What's printed on the box?

"SCHOOL TEXTBOOKS."

They haven't lost a piece of equipment yet!

Maybe she has a lot of break-ins in her neighborhood and didn't feel safe leaving the stuff at home?
