After our 2009 corolla went in for that gas pedal recall thing in march another recall on the same thing came in the mail yesterday. Seems that this is PART 2 of recall for it so Toyota owners beware of it coming in the mail and yes it is another recall. The 3rd recall on the car in 2 years, even though recall 2 and 3 are on the same thing.
Well this about seals the fate of our ever getting another one in the future but seems that most car companies are recalling  cars and trucks for 1 thing or another, real crap products they produce and of course the prices keep going up.
Where is my horse? need some hay also. I can dress like Paladin in Have gun will travel and I can be Have recall will travel. Grin

Saw these guys at the Jazz fest 2 weeks ago.  No guns - just the blues.  And they rocked the house!

The recalls (especially voluntary ones) are better than car manufacturers hiding flaws.

For instance, we had to go to court to prove that my daughter's new car (a Corvette) had a steering and braking  flaw. You turned the wheel and the car kept going straight. The dealer couldn't fix it and it spent more time in the shop than out. The dealer was as frustrated as we were and aged to go to court on our behalf.

They settled after the case was already in court, but with the stipulation that we kept quiet about the problem. We signed, with the stipulation that they destroyed he car and did not resell it.

Not long after I read  about an off-duty cop who had the same year and model car with the same problem. But he actually killed someone when the car wouldn't turn or stop. And after that, another case, turned up.

In all these cases the manufacturer took the position that it was "driver error."

Oh yeah, another annoying problem was that sometimes when you turned off the key the car would lock you inside with the alarm blaring. Doors and windows wouldn't open and you had to call the service department.

Lemon law should have been in effect.
