A game-changing shift in power is about to come to Atlantic City as N.J. Gov. Chris Christie plans to announce a takeover of the town's casino district.

Under the plan, the state of N.J. would assume control of all tourist areas of the seaside resort -- including the boardwalk, beach, casinos, marina and shopping district, officials tell NBC Philadelphia.

The move will strip city officials from controlling everything from sanitation to public safety, officials said.

Christie is set to make the official announcement during a press conference in Atlantic City Wednesday at 2 p.m.

Details emerging.

My guess is that he puts up a big fence around it.

Makes it the new capital of new jersey.

And makes it law that teachers are not allowed in.

Interesting idea but with the financial state of NJ are we prepared to do this?  Then again I think I'll wait to read his plan this afternoon after the official announcement before making any comments.   Just not too sure I'm 100% behind him on this one at this point.
