This is the APP link. Don't see how anyone can say this is a 75% savings. Must be the new math. Huh?

Thank-you Peter and Al......Jamie, its not a 75 % savings, it is reallly not much of a savings at all.  The board agreed to try and reinstate sports into next years budget if at all possible...

Gene,
This whole thing can serve as a lesson learned. I am sure due to amount of interest this has had the BOE will find a way to keep this in next years budget. Folks are very passionate about sports. Healthy bodies mean healthy minds.

So does it really cost less or are we just letting more kids play? See the Tri-Town News.

My son wrestled last year to see if he likes it. He wasn't really that good but did it and finished out the season.  I'm not paying $350 for him to see if he still likes it again this year and to get an occasional backup match.  I would like to see him try something but I really don't want to drop a few hundred bucks for him to try something out. I do think most families will have the same feeling. If the child excels or shows a strong interest then they will pay but the borderline just go out and give it a try will not spend the money.
I guess we just wait until freshman year so he can give football a try. He is going to be a raw monster but maybe we can get a coach to see something in him and work with him. At this time Pop Warner just isn't workable.

John,

I agree.  The fallout over this decision will haunt us and these kids for a long time.  But hey - we all saved a little less than 1% on our school budget so what are you going to do with all that money you saved in taxes?

I can't decide if I want to get a pizza or a 12 pack of beer?  Tough decisions.
