  Good morning!  This email is to confirm that tonight is the Howell Parks & Recreation Department's final showing of our Movies in the Park Series.  Tonight's movie is "Fantastic Mr. Fox" (Rated PG) and has a running time of 97 minutes.  Location is on the hill in front of Town Hall (between the Howell PD and the Library).  To view the official trailer, click here (please allow a few seconds to load).  Showtime is approximately 8:15 p.m. but get there early and enjoy various games, music, giveways, delicious food and FUN!  There is going to be Jeopardy, raffle tickets, a face painter and demonstrations from Kum-Sung Karate.   

  As in the past, this is a FREE event for you and your family to enjoy.  However, we are asking for your support in providing food for the Howell Food Pantry.  Therefore, if you can bring a non-perishable item(s) it would be greatly appreciated (see requested list below).  Various 55 gallon drums will be placed throughtout the event for your convenience.  Prizes will be awarded to the first 100 children who donate to the local food pantry.  In advance, we thank you for your generosity and for helping those in need.

  Tonight's forecast is going to be clear skies with a low of 60 degrees, so please dress accordingly.  We will be selling hot chocolate to help keep you warm!  Remember to bring your blankets and/or chairs.  We hope you will join us for this wonderful community event!

The Howell Parks and Recreation Department is teaming up with the Howell Food Pantry in the collection of food/goods to help those in need.  The Howell Food Pantry, Inc. (Neighbors helping Neighbors) distributes food to people in Howell and Farmingdale that are in need of food on an emergency basis any time during the month.  Usually, the last Monday of each month the pantry distributes collected food to residents in need during their hours of operation.  The Howell Food Pantry is located in the basement of the Human Services Building located at 450 Farmingdale-Adelphia Road.  They are open from 4 - 7 p.m. on the Monday of distribution and Monday mornings from 9 - 11 a.m. (except on National Holidays and school closings).


The following is a list of items that are regularly distributed:

Reusable Bags
Canned Vegetables and Fruits
Peanut Butter
Jelly/Jam
Salad Dressing
Crackers
Cookies
Paper Goods
Coffee
Syrup
Tuna Fish
Tomato Sauce and Pastas
Soup
Pancake Mix and Cereals
Macaroni & Cheese
Personal Care Items
Diapers
Soaps and Detergents
Drinks

Remember to please check food for expiration dates to avoid spoiled foods.

Great weather all 3 nights and another decent turnout. There were 4 containers for the food pantry not sure how much was contributed but I guess every bit helps.
Hopefully we can bring this event back again next year.
